Leighton Linslade Helpers

This volunteer group was formed on 20 March 2020 primarily to support our community through the Pandemic as a foodbank.  We quickly grew into a large family of volunteers that started to help our community in many other ways, we support our local Armed Forces charity, our local authorities with homeless and refugees, smaller village foodbanks, we also have a volunteer programme which actively encourages those with special needs, mental health issues and the young attaining their Duke of Edinburgh to volunteer for their health and happiness.

In the next few months we will be opening our second Community Fridge in the Meadow Way Community Centre, with some exciting programmes of activities to compliment the new Fridge.  We formed as a registered charity on 26 October 2021 and this has enabled us to fundraise to continue providing our services for free to the community.  In keeping with our name, we aim to work in collaboration with as many other local organisations as possible, providing support or working on projects together.  There is strength and power in numbers and we love to see others succeed.  Watch this ‘Good News Space’ for more exciting projects to come.
