Announcement regarding volunteer requests 13th April 2020
This is an update and a huge thank you to every volunteer who put themselves forward to help with the group
In the first two weeks since forming (this is only the end of week 4), we have worked closely with our Town Council and our County Council to ensure that we operate our volunteer group within National and Local Guidance.
We were fortunate to find volunteers already DBS checked and who were operating as a group so their lines of communication were already well established. To date there is a core team of 40 of us, so we are able to meet the requests for help that we are receiving.
However, for some of our more vulnerable within our community, the lockdown measures will last for at least 12 weeks and they will need our support along with other agencies. During this time some of our A-Team will need to self isolate, so we will need a B-Team to step into their shoes.
This is now a formal process that is managed and driven by Central Beds Council. So if you do still want to volunteer in some capacity please visit their website on the link below and register yourself. You will then enter a triage system that will match your skills and availability to the right organisation.
Central Beds and other agencies are experiencing shortages of Volunteers so please get registered and help the effort County Wide, and please be patient while waiting for a response.
Thank you once again for all your support and...
